thank you, jay bruce, for the ever-elusive -4 point game as a position player.

now the only bad part about me forgetting to start myers is that my chance of catching raw in points is out the window. glad i don't have to pay attention to my team this week.

We're going to be playing each other 2 weeks in a row.. Yippee!

i think you'll beat me in the playoffs. i won't have anybody with two starts, so i'll have to start all my guys, regardless of matchups.

Victorino's 11th inning double and game-winning run put me up by 1/2 point. Hopefully that will hold up after any overnight deductions. If only I had the guts to have started Harang I wouldn't be sweating it out to the end.

Tie! We tied. There are no ties!

The race for last continues...

Ha ...a tie. You guys are such sorry fantasy baseball players you can't even lose properly in your race to have the worst record

Also, Clay Buchholtz has been sent to the minors. If he finishes the season there, will I be able to keep him in my minors in the off-season? or, since he has 15 starts this year, I have to keep him in the majors?

My guess is that he needs to be one of my 10 major league keepers.

I'm almost sure that's correct. You can keep him in the minors during the season as long as he's in the minors in real baseball, but if a player has lost minor league eligibility I don't think he can stay on your minor league roster during the off-season.

I'll have Sheets for 2 that week, and possibly Garza too...

The close race I'm currently watching is the point totals between Brandon Webb, Roy Oswalt, Matt Holliday and Vernon Wells. I would love to be able to keep all 4 of those guys for next year. They currently have 1626 points. My guess is one of them will have to be cut loose, which will be Vernon Wells.

I have a lot of talented exemption players who will be available at the end of the season since I can't keep them all.

I agree with Adam. If he doesn't get promoted during September call ups, I would think you would be able to keep him in your minors.

I agree. While I would rather have him in the minors. It is nearly impossible for he commish to verify when a player was in the minors, but it is easy to verify that each player has not exceeded the limits in appearances.

There are no minor league rosters in the off-season, therefore, the only criteria is minor league eligibility.

I think an exception would be appropriate for a player not on the 40 man roster.

Isn't that really only possible if the player get DFA'd? Probably wouldn't be worth hanging onto in that case.

the guy i'm thinking about is rich hill. he's been in the minors since june (?), and he certainly won't be back up again this season. he just seems like he'd be minor league roster eligible.

He's cheap enough points wise as is. I don't think he should be eligible.

it's not the points part, it's the roster space. i doubt i'd waste one of my 10 spots on him.

if he's eligible to be on my minor league roster right now (which he is), i don't see why he wouldn't be eligible to be on my minor league roster at the end of the year. that doesn't make much sense.

he is not eligible and it makes perfect sense.

no, it really doesn't. it's perfectly legal for him to be on my minor league roster now, but not in the day the season ends? what changes between right now and the end of the season? he certainly isn't back up on the cubs' major league roster.

that's just stupid, but whatever.

While he is on the minor league roster, he can be in the minors. when he isn't, he can't. what part of that is stupid or difficult to understand?

exactly. and when the season's over, he won't be on the major league roster.

He won't be on the 40 man? Because that is the major league roster. You can look that up.

he'll presumably be on a minor league roster (or the minor league DL) at the end of the year, won't he?

there are no minor league rosters in the offseason - there is just the 40 man.
