This is an epidemic. In an SI players poll a couple weeks ago asking which rookie has impressed you the most, Soto was first, Longoria second and Volquez third.

 

Just because you change leagues doesn't make you a rookie!

Jim Duquette is the guy who traded Scott Kazmir for Victor Zambrano, it doesn't surprise me that he's too dumb to realize Volquez isn't a rookie.

 

Speaking of the ROTY candidates, there was a thread about whether or not Jurrjens would get it over Soto.

 

Is Jorge Campillo considered a rookie? I know he pitched on three different occasions in the past, but he only has like 17IP over those three MLB stints. He's been better than Jurrjens this year.

So wait. I didn't think Volquez was a rookie either but I looked at his BR page to check it out. He pitched 34 innings in 06 and 33 in 07. I know 50 IP is the cutoff for qualifying for ROY or whatever. Is it a running total over the course of numerous seasons? Otherwise I can't figure out why he wouldn't be a rookie.
