Secondly... this was just an embarassing all around besides goaltending:

 

Byfuglien was TERRIBLE... could have had a hat trick with as many shots on goal he had.

Havlat is out there alone, and our goaltending is keeping us in the games... we need Q to light a fire under these guys' asses if we're going to get anything done.

This is disapointing. I am going to have to lower my impression of the Blackhawks. I thought they were the 3rd best team in the West, but now I'm leaning towards 5th or 6th.

 

I could be overreacting to a down stretch though.

 

Just 1-1-2 against the Blues this year, with that one win being a 2-1 win. They just have our number this year.

For kicks and giggles and curiosity I looked up 5 minute major interference calls and seriously can't find one... could it be a first? And yea I looked it up and it is technically legal for refs to call that... just surprised it wasn't boarding... or even charging.

Yes, but NHL refs are by far the worst in Major Sports.

You're overreacting. They're in a small slump. Did you expect them to dominate all season? If this is our worst stretch of the season then you can't complain. It's not like they've completely fallen apart. They're 5-4-1 in their last 10. Before they lost these last 2 in a row, they had gotten 7 out of 8 possible points in the 4 previous games.

The only other pro sport that I watch is Baseball. From a completely subjective and non fact based point of view, I think NHL officiating is not as good as MLB.

 

Funny that you say this, cause one of the reasons that I find NHL officiating bad is that it seems subjective and not consistent.

I dont know...I usually just traverse through a couple of Wings boards, dont read the local newspapers that much. If they are it hasnt been a posted topic.

 

The Wings dont currently use a third jersey either. I dont remember them ever having one. If they do its been a long time since it has been used.

I really liked them, but hope they only use them once or twice a year. Maybe a home and home with the Hawks. How often do the Hawks use their 3rd jersey? 4 or 5 times a year?
