is it me or people nitpicking and continuing feudal arguements a lot more lately. He made a slight mistake, you pointed it out don't see why a small argument was needed.

Anyways Z given a 500 at bat season would at his current pace have exactly 90 RBI's this year. I vote we try for his next two starts that he bats in Lee's spot and Lee bats 9th :).

It's not you. I think it is a function of the board collectively having less to b**ch about. That is a good thing. We are an argumentative type here.

No we're not! Screw you buddy!

It's you.

I was pointing out what I thought was a mistake, I don't see any argument. The general statement that the Cubs offense is well rounded stands. The two biggest things that kept them toward the bottom in recent years were a lack of walks, and multiple "black hole" spots. They are taking plenty of walks now and have no black holes.

In 1929, the Cubs had 5 players get to 90 RBI...

Charlie Grimm (1b) - 91

Rogers Hornsby 2b) - 149

Hack Wilson (of) - 159

Riggs Stevenson (of) - 110

Kiki Cuyler (of) - 102

This was arguably the Cubs' greatest offensive team of all time, and amazingly they did it with Gabby Hartnett © out almost the entire year with an injury. (Gabby would hit .339 37 HR and 122 RBI in 1930.)

They lost the Series 4 games to 1 to the Philedelphia Athletics. Those A's were a great team with Mickey Cochrane, Al Simmons, Jimmie Foxx, and Lefty Grove (and a way-way out of his prime Eddie Collins, who didn't even appear in the WS).

I wasn't able to find any other Cubs team to ever have more than 3 guys with 90+ RBI in the same year. (As you can imagine, Banks, Santo and Williams did it a few times.)

Right now, according to ESPN's website, Ramirez is on pace for 118, DeRosa 96, Lee 93, Soto 89, and Soriano 85.

Everyone who gets this joke, raise your hand.

Every time Geo or DeRo has a night like Geo had tonight, I get genuinely excited to see what the end of season RBI numbers could look like if guys go on prolonged hot streaks with men on base ahead of them.

You would have to follow Todd MacFarland's "Spawn" comics to get that joke....Long story short, the main character (the Spawn we know) human name is Al Simmons.....

I got it; I was talking to everyone else.

Thanks to last night's game, Soto's projected RBI total jumped from 94 to 97.

100 RBI from a) the catcher who b) always hit in the bottom half of the lineup would be seven kinds of awesome
