I was just thinking...

Ryan Luckwick 2008 = Richard Hidalgo 2000?

Luckwick 08 - .307 .384 .623

Hidalgo 00 - .314 .391 .636

Luckwick career minor league line - .270 .345 .501

Hidalgo career minor league line - .282 .324 .440

Pretty big different in minor league OPS, but both showed great explosions in unexpected seasons. Of course Hidalgo played during a time where a lot of suspicious activity was happening. Either way, Hidalgo could never quite get back to that form after 2000, although he did have a pretty good 2003 (.309 .385 .572)

I'm so conflicted.

I want the Cardinals to win the wild card, but I also want the Cubs lead on the Cards and Brewers to keep building. That's fine. I can keep rooting for the Cards and Brewers to both lose...

Still, at some point, I have to want the Cards to win.

Hrabosky: "You concentrate on this game and then you board your charter to Chicago and think about how you're going to beat up on the Cubbies."

Well Al, your Cards can think all they wish about beating the Cubbies, the simple fact is they're better than your Cards in every facet of the game and none of your or their thinking is going to change that.

It's been interesting to see how far the Rockies have fallen off this year when they pretty much have their same players. It doesn't help their pitching staff is horrid.

Cesar Izturis is leading off for the Cardinals today. Cesar's line this year: .239 .309 .293

Cesar's line vs lefties this year: .308 .379 .375

I stand corrected.

No you don't.

Izturis vs LHP for his career... 902 PAs

They really weren't all that good last year, save for a record hot streak.

Just left Busch. Too hot out there in the business casual.

Manny destroyed that ball. Even the Cards fans were buzzing.

Hope the Dodgers bullpen can keep it together here...
