I'm digging the pitch count.

I'm digging Lilly's outing thus far.

I'd really dig a 4 or 5 run inning.

Last time the CUBS scored 4 runs in an inning.... Sun 27 July 08 (4 runs in the 7th inn) in a 9-6 win over Florida at Wrigley

Last time the CUBS scored 5 runs in an inning.... Wed 23 July 08 (6 runs in the 8th inn) in a 10-6 win at Arizona

Go CUBS !!

Braindead Ronny grounding out. DUMB

Could just call him 63 career OPS+ Ronny if that is a better nickname.

I'd have no problem with that. You wanna argue that Ronny isn't a good ballplayer, have at it, Lord knows you've got the major league #s to back it up.

If Ronny was truly as untalented as some want to believe, AND was some Ned Yost-like buffoon when it came to intelligence; He'd be a Tony Pena Jr. hitter with Jack Cust level defense.

I just really don't understand why things need to be made up about Ronny, when you can simply say something simple like he hasn't hit at the major league level, and other than a ~2 month stretch, he doesn't look like he has an approach that's conducive to becoming one.

Here's my deal: while I don't argue that you might have a point about Cedeno getting somewhat of a bad rap defensively compared to a guy like Theriot (I haven't run the numbers mind you), I also believe strongly that if Ronny would post some kind of major league-level numbers at the plate he'd get more leeway. It might not be right, I'll acknowledge that. But Ronny's got to give this team something to hang its hat on at some point.

Ronny's a backup SS with a good glove OPS+ing 86. A backup SS with a good glove with better offensive #s isn't a backup SS.

Haha @ being ignorant enough to think Ronny a bad fielder.
