Cards blew another one in the 9th.

There's definitely some irony in a guy like Fernando Tatis homering to tie a game against a team like the Cardinals. Scrub vs. Scrubs.

it's kinda fun watching the back of their bullpen torpedo the season that's being propped up by that overachieving bunch of a-holes.

btw, fernando tatis hit a game-tying homer in the 9th. he's had like 3 or 4 huge hits in the past month... what a weird career resurrection.

The Cards make more diving catches on sinking liners than anyone. It's amazing, actually.

though in the case of ankiel, it's probably because he horribly misread the ball off the bat and is forced to make the diving catch. everyone has such a boner over his outfield arm that they forget that he costs them way more runs with his reads than he gets back with a strong arm.

It's true. I watch my fair share of STL games and it's hilarious how much the announcers go crazy for his arm but you'll always see him screw up some relatively easy fly balls because of his routes.

Also, Cards just got a huge break on a terrible call by the first base ump.

i hate ankiel more than anyone in baseball, so watching fly balls hit over his head is one of my favorite things in the game right now. usually it involves (a) starting in toward home plate, (b) turning and running frantically away from home plate, looking for the ball, © turning and looking over the other shoulder while running a zig-zag pattern, then (d) missing the ball by a few feet while The Best Fans in Baseball applaud him for his supreme effort to make the catch.

5 walks in 2 innings by this pitcher, 0 runs allowed

i wanted tatis to hit a walkoff grand slam, but just run into the dugout after touching third. walkoff triple for the cycle!

Especially since Tatis once was a great beneficiary of Cardinal Magic before it became in vogue.

Pujols 2 run HR. Cardinals up 10-8. 3 Games up on a playoff spot.

I'm pissed off, but I'm still not worried. I don't know why not, because I should be. I keep feeling like the next 6 or 7 game win streak is around the corner. It'd be nice if it started in Milwaukee.
