I guess the NLDS didn't teach you guys not to throw FBs down the meat of the plate to Chris Young.

Why would you ever throw him a fastball?

Remember when CY hit a leadoff homer on a fastball against Lilly earlier this season and then looked foolish on breaking balls the rest of the game? Apparently Soto and Lilly don't.

honestly, most pitchers throw him junk and get him out. the ones dumb enough to throw him heaters get burned.

i bet that he hasn't hit a breaking ball all year. i can't see him lasting at the ml level.

Well we've poured on a 1 run cushion. At this point its best to just pitch to contact and finish this thing out.

So true. 1 run for the Cubs currently = about 7 or 8 to any other team [and no, that doesn't mean the pitching & defense has been that totally dominant].

So, little off-topic, but did LaRuss bean Hall tonight as was discussed over in the OGs game thread?

Briefly, but nothing has come out of it. Fielder got hit, and Cards fans cheered... That's all

I saw the 1 run on my phone after the first inning at work, I hoped it was a Soriano lead off job but no turns out he struck out in the first inning

Lets hope he isn't terrible for another two weeks before he gets good

Glaus led of the 7th with a BB, then Molina quickly erased that by pulling his best DPLee impression

Cards are gonna tank all their games against Milwaukee on purpose this season to stick it to the Cubs.

Um, yeah, Cubs I know that scoring runs is considered a chronic disease you want no part of as of late, but could you try to anyways??

2 wins out of 6 games shouldn't be asking too much.

Aside from the fastball to Chris Young, Lilly had a good inning.

If nothing else, it will eliminate all this silly talk about the Cards being a contender.
