It sounds pretty cool. Curious to see how this compares to what we have done in the past. I like teams pretty much being limited to 3 stud players that are not exempt.

currently, we are operating on what would be a $40 million cap plus all your exempt players.

I'd be interested in participating in something like that, but I'm not sure I want roadkill to make such a dramatic shift.

That is also an option (a separate league).

I've never participated in a fantasy league with that type of structure before, so I don't have an informed opinion yet. I do think, however, that if such a radical change were to be made within Roadkill it would need to take effect for 2010, not next year. People have already made trades involving draft picks for next year, and since that's already started I think the same type of draft (rather than an auction or salary cap) needs to be maintained. Plus, given the change in rules for exemptions already announced for next year I think the concept of exemptions needs to be maintained for next year. Personally I agree with Tim's idea of a separate league under the proposed structure rather than making such a radical change in Roadkill.

I'd be interested as well, mainly for a separate league. I'd like to keep roadkill the same, due to the fact that we do have an occasional problem with some managers not being active, and we have people in the league who may object to such a drastic shift. I think it's a great idea though!

I'd be willing to pitch in another $10 a year in a new league with this structure.

I think we have too many years with this set-up to try and make a change that drastic. It would essentially mean we needed to have a new draft and that we'd have to go a year without trading draft picks.

Juan, I like the set-up and think it would be very interesting to see the difference in managing between the two structures.

Like I said, if you want to start a new league with these structures I'd love to be a part of it.

I'd definitely be interested in this in a separate league. The only other league of significance I'm in is Chuck's ESPN league, and between the abandoned teams there and the other two guys who expand their roster size on a daily basis by rotating in and out every free agent pitcher available, I've completely lost interest over there.

As have I. ESPN limits the tools in order to police anything as well. CBS's structure is much better. I'd never pay for an ESPN league.

Lets get this started - any want to do a mid-year draft?

I'd love to, but I have to admit that mid-year is vacation time for me, as well as many other people. It might be hard to pull off during vacation time, but we can give it a try.

Well, we have a good bit of work to do to get the structure organized enough for everyone understands the rules. We probably won't do a traditional draft - maybe we should get together? That might be too much to ask but would be fun. Looks like CBS doesn't offer mid year starts so we will have to do things offline anyway (which we might want to do anyway).
