Here's WSI's reaction:

What a crock of ****.

****ing Red Sox fans.

And maybe Cub fans too.
For sure. You know it was Red Cubs Nation that made this happen.
**** the Cubs - and **** their fans. I seriously can not wait until one of their major players breaks a leg and his season ends on Tuesday - I sincerely hope it happens - sincerely!
That's pretty much like the pot calling the kettle black.

I hold no shame in wishing that upon Cubs players - like Big Z - This Birthday Wish is for you - every year!

...If the Cub fans voted against Dye...how did Corey Hart make it? And what classy fans.

Jermaine Dye deserved to go as much as Joe Crede didn't deserve to go, so I don't know what theyre crying about. And WTF would Cubs fans vote for Longoria? Do they really think we have nothing better to do than stuff the box for Longoria? Then again, WSI isn't the best place for an intelligent opinion.

AJ could have made it over Varitek, but the players weren't going to allow that to happen. I wonder what their reaction is to that.

Something along the lines of......

I hope JD knows how hard we tried to put him in. It was basically us against the national media, Red Sox Nation, and Cub nation and we finished a close second. I'm very proud to be part of this Sox Army. We didn't quit until the very end. As for Longoria, I'm happy for him and hope he those well to help us get homefield in the World Series.

I think its a marketing ploy by MLB to make Tampa Bay more attractive to the local fan base. Prior to this year their teams and fan attendence were hand in hand, in the dumps. But whoa hey wait, lets get a young hot rookie and promote him as the future of the club while we're in first place, and people will come to games! And now lets make him an All Star! I think its all BS.

Just when the crosstown is long over and behind us, and I go back to not caring about the White Sox, they're imbecile fans come up with another conspiracy about the man(The Cubs) keeping the little guy(The Sox) down.

And Jermaine DOES deserve to be on the All Star team. Its the Sox fans own fault however that they failed to get him in both on the regular ballot and the final player ballot.

As a Brewer fan im really happy for Corey, he deserves it.

statistics argue otherwise, but congrats to him i guess.

You could statistcs argue with alot of the players.

you could, and you'd still find that corey hart hasn't been one of the 6 best outfielder in the national league this year. the answers we would have accepted are matt holliday, nate mclouth, jason bay, xavier nady (3 pirates!), pat burrell, carlos beltran, brian giles and ryan ludwick. that's eight options for six spots.

All I said was you could argue against alot of the players who are in the game, bud.

that is true. i was just countering your comment that hart deserved it, because he did not. but i hope he has a nice time in new york and does something good for the national league.

Yeah, all I was saying is he deserves it over some of the other all stars this year. And I doubt he will play but who knows

mostly i'm just pissed that burrell didn't make it. he's been underappreciated for a long time, and even though he's having his best season, he still doesn't make the all-star team. he was more deserving than nearly all of the guys who actually did make it in the NL outfield. i guess i always liked burrell even though i'm fairly sure the cubs have never ever gotten him out.

And to think he is doing nothing at home this year as well.

It's still possible that Burrell could be named to take Soriano's spot.

Wasn't Halladay named in his place or did he just take his place starting?
