Jericho Jones is 12 for his last 20 with 2 walks, 2 doubles, 2 triples, and a home run, a mere 1.686 OPS.

Really like what Cerda's done thus far as well. Hopefully he starts seeing more game action at catcher.

I like me some Jericho Jones!

And where's my Michael Brenly updates?

Baked potato, grilled fingerling potatoes, and scalloped potatoes with cheddar.

On the pregame of the Boise game the announcer said that Breaking News will be announced sometime during the game that may affect the Boise roster. I'm guessing that Cashner has just signed!

That was indeed the case! Both Shafer and Cashner have agreed to terms. Cashner will officially sign wednesday, and Shafer actually signed today! cashner will throw a bullpen for Larry Friday at Wrigley, and will be on WGN for an interview with len and Bob! Definately good news!

Nifty. Are both going to Boise?

The reporter (Steve Holly from Inside the Ivy) only said that Shafer would report to Mesa on Thursday, and the info on Cashner mentioned above.

Is there a chance that Cashner sees the bigs this year?

yay, I finally remembered to watch Boise for the first time. Got it on in time to see Vitters ground out.

Cashner will probably not see the bigs this year and definitely won't if the Cubs try him out at starter.

You should know

Next questions, are they really going to try to move him to a starter? If so why, was he a closer in college? Are the pro scouts/the Cubs that much smarter than a college coach? It just seems kind of off to me. However, I'm no expert.

4.2IP, 6H, 6R/5ER, 2BB, 3k

:(

First two innings were scoreless. Gave up a solo HR in the 3rd, a run on a squeeze in the 4th and the wheels fell off in the 5th. Disappointing...he's had 3 bad starts and 4 quality starts. Needs to stop being so inconsistent, especially when he's repeating the MWL.

Wasn't he the guy doing PEDs?

They left the decision to him and according to Inside the Ivy, he chose relieving. He was a starter his first two years and he moved to the pen at TCU because they had a vacancy at closer (he was expected to be their Friday [ace] starter when he transferred). His stuff improved and it could be since he went to the pen or it could just be because he matured, since he has a history of starting, it'd be great to have him start and see if his stuff remains really good. Even if he goes to the pen, he should get the innings in the pen to work on his secondary pitches.
