losing to a bad team is really going to help their seeding in the tourney. end up a 7 or 8 seed and it could be a first round exit.

 

michigan has players, though. manny harris is the best player on the court and sims ain't far behind him.

 

Purdue was screwed as soon as Johnson got in foul trouble. No Calasan and Johnson out with three fouls 6 minutes in means no inside defense. Purdue thus had to rotate an extra guy into the paint leaving holes open on the perimeter for Harris. If they didn't role someone down Sims would just shoot over top Hummel or Green.

You normally see defense on Ben Howland-coached teams.

michigan lives and dies by the 3, they can take anybody out if they're on, and they have.

 

That's the standard with all 3-pt shooting teams. If you live on them then you're likely not going to when more than 60-70% of your games because you are bound to have an off night every 4 or 5 games.

yeah, he has had some good defensive players and teams over the years. i'm just saying that it seems like the big ten is the only conference where defense is stressed on every single team. but that could be my bias.
