more than that, milton bradley has been easily the most productive offensive player in the american league to this point of the season.

#2 & 3 are probably Rangers too

What I don't get is how this announcer really isn't catching much backlash for this. It was an unwarranted and unnecessary personal attack on a player from the other team whom he has never personally met. I thought it was distasteful and unprofessional.

Perhaps his punishment is in fact being the Royals announcer.

But Hamilton's issues kept him off the field for how long? Cost him how many millions of dollars? He's had half a season of success thus far? Milton Bradley may be a headcase, but he's been successful on the field, and despite his antics hasn't done anything that has kept him off the field for longer than a few game suspension here or there.

It's really a pretty awful comparison.

Unfortunately the way Bradley handled it played right into what the announcer was saying no matter if the comparsion was fair or not.

My thoughts exactly.

I never understand players that are so hyper sensitive about what announcers are saying. WHo cares? Your playing, your a millionaire, they are just the announcer. Let it go.

Can you go back in time and tell that to the 2004 team? Thanks.

Hmm, Ryan Lefevrbe got accused of comparing apples to oranges...

But yes sir you are correct.

I guess you would have had to actually heard what was said in the context of the game. Milton and the media are making it sound way worse than it was. I found Stoney's constant personal attacks on Moises Alou to be much worse than anything Ryan said about Milton the other night.

Sorry was just my humble opinion and I am so terribly sorry that I seem to be incorrect even though it is just my opinion.

Nor condescending... RedIvy was the one telling me my take on the situation was wrong in the first place.

Wait a minute... ::looks at avatar of Grudzy in the Royals uni::... you are the Royals announcer aren't you?!?

I do apologize because I wasn't trying to say how you saw it or should I say heard it was wrong. I just didn't think it was that bad as it was made out to be and that was my opinion.

Nah, I don't even know how to spell his last name so that is why I call him Ryan.

texas has a 141.6 offensive VORP and a -18.1 pitching VORP... the first number is the best in baseball, and the second number is the worst in baseball. this is pretty much like every texas team for the past 10 years.

btw the next-worst team in pitching VORP is the mariners, at +22.7. texas' pitching has really been unspeakably bad this year, though to be fair, their defense is also a horror show.

-18 vorp

time to call up all the AAA guys

the cubs have used 18 pitchers, and 2 have a negative VORP - pignatiello (-0.6) and hart (-3.9). Texas has used 23 pitchers, and 12 have a negative VORP. basically, the average texas pitcher has pitched slightly worse than carmen pignatiello this year.

Bradley clearly went to the Mercker/Alou school of going with the flow

Well, actually....

Nah, I am just going to keep my thoughts to myself on this one. No one would believe what I would have to say anyhow. Only thing I will say is if you think what happened in 2004 doesn't happen all the time, you are wrong. Media tends to keep these things under wraps. As for Milton, what he did was hard to keep under wraps.
