Am I reading that right? 0 BB's by Marquis today? Should that be a 10 in there?

Wow this is the first game Marquis has pitched this year where he actually looks good. He's had decent numbers in a couple of other starts, but more or less hasn't pitched all that well in those games. Now Lou will probably leave him in too long and he will give up the lead in the 7th or 8th inning.

sometimes i wonder if jon miller brings up walks and offensive patience just to f*** with joe morgan

 

lay off Morgan. He gives us important insight, like a pitcher batting .200 is the equivilant of a position player batting .300.

 

I think what Joe Morgan means is that you don't expect pitchers to hit .200, just like you don't expect position players to hit .300. If a pitcher hits .200, then it's as big of a welcome surprise as a position player hitting .300.
