Meh,

I SO wanted to see Bob and Len switch facial hair. Blah. So oh well, on to a new winning streak! With Demp going I feel confident. I am going to Chicago tommorow so sorry for the quick game thread without pics. but.

DEMP 7-2 (2.75 ERA)

vs.

Billingsley 4-6 (3.29 ERA)

GO CUBBIES! I'll be at shed but watching in spirit.

If the Cubbies win it's ok for a spot starter to start for me incase I stay overnight at chicago and have no access to a computer.

Cubs lose eleventy billion to (-1).

It'd be nice to give Marmol a day off, but with Billingsley going, it's likely to be a close game. And we all know that Lou can't make it through a tight game w/out going to Marmol.

I'd really like it if Soto and Lee could pretend its April.

Traditionally, after a slow start, June is when Derrek would heat up.

Yup, but normally I'd be worried about Soto more because it seems like he can't hit breaking pitches, but Derrek has just been awful lately. He needs to move down in the order until he figures it out.

Pitchers are figuring out Soto, and hes going to have to adjust. This sounds like a job for Gerald Perry.

I hope we lose so that I never have to see the Cubs referred to as the Cubbies again on NSBB.

Marmol only threw 8 pitches last night after getting the day off. I have no problem with him pitching tonight so long as he gets the next game off.

I'm just upset because I remember when the Cubs were in Cincinnati (I think) I remember Len saying something to the effect of, the pitchers are avoiding Soto because he has the least holes in his swing and is the most dangerous hitter. Ever since the Nationals threw nothing but breaking pitches to him, he hasn't been the same. He has been able to hit the breaking pitch more since then, giving him a few fastballs again, but almost every AB I see vs. Soto, there are always a healthy diet of curves and sliders, etc.

Not macho enough.

If we lose tonight, Cards could easily gain 2 on us, even with a Pujolsless lineup vs. the Natspos.

Actually, the most games they could gain is 1.5.

this is alpha male board then...i did not know that...

In my opinion, calling the Cubs the "cubbies" further feeds the lovable loser BS, which I dislike. We're already named after a cute cuddly baby bear, that's lovable enough.

I'll be there all four games. Cubs better win more than they lose...especially tomorrow when I'll be with 10 Dodger fan co-workers (and one Dusty Baker's Reds fan co-worker).
