At some point we have to accept the fact that the Cardinals' coaching staff is very, very good.

Yep Dave Duncan IMO is the most valuable coach in the majors. You have him you have an acceptable pitching rotation. It amasses me more people haven't copied what he does. From what I've read is he makes pitchers throw slightly less than full out so they can have more control and teaches them to use the changeup.

EDIT: This still doesn't account for every other bizarro hitting and pitching performance they've had

I don't know that it's a bizarro pitching performance.

You could argue that he was the best pitcher for the Royals in 2006.

Uh, no. He was just downright awful....

I think "Luckiest" better defines Wellemeyer in '06. He's got solid peripherals this year though, too bad no one realizes that if you don't swing at the sliders they won't be strikes, leaving you with something straight(fastball or change) to hit.

I could fill you in, but I don't think it'd matter.

He's going to be just fine.

Not sure why you say it like that. Last I had heard they werent even starting him every game, so please fill me in? Injury, something else, what?

he's one of the best prospects in baseball, now playing in AAA at the age of 21

He always starts slow.

He had a dominant spring and was disappointed about being sent down.

He is taking a new, less pull hitting approach at the plate.

He has done this his last 10 games:

Well he just hit one about a half hour ago so he upped the ante on you.

Slow start or not, I might kill for Rasmus in the Cubs system.

Though I'd prefer killing for a Bruce or a Price.
