Except they already have a lot of talent that is already very good.

Cordero, Dunn, Harang, Volquez, Phillips, Arroyo and I'd even say Votto and Bruce.

Bailey, Encarnacion and Cueto are wild cards. At any rate, we'll still win the division, but the wild card isn't out of reach for them.

I'd swap starting rotations with the Reds in a heartbeat. Once Jocketty Dusty-proofs that lineup, they're gonna be very good very soon.

I read this about Prior again and pray for Volquez

Prior had games of 114, 118, 100, 116, 131, 129, 109, 124, 131 and 133 pitches. In the playoffs, he threw a complete-game, 132-pitch two-hitter to beat Atlanta, 115 pitches to beat Florida and 119 pitches in Game 6 of the NLCS against Florida, in which he was gassed by his 24th pitch of that fatal eighth inning.

That's four games of 130-plus pitches, plus another with 129. In 2007, only twice did a pitcher throw 130 pitches in a game (Orlando Hernandez and A.J. Burnett each threw 130 exactly). Compare that total to 2003, when there were 27 starts of 130-plus pitches, topped by Kerry Wood's 141 in a May start for the Cubs.
