A year away from FA, and Baltimore doesn't have a lot of reason to trade him. However he is great away from Camden, we have a history with Baltimore though the this past offseason might have spoiled our relationship with them a little bit. His only real issue is the amount of walks and HR's (again away from home and this changes).

No real reason for them to trade him but it shouldn't cost any more to get him than it would have Roberts. Come time for October though it will give the Cubs 4 really good options to start.

I can't see this happening. Hendry is probably pissed about what happened this winter and I don't see why the O's would trade him while they still have control of him. Also, isn't he very wild? I remember him walking 10 batters in a game once.

Absolutely not. The O's would come out asking for Hill+ based on his potential, and completely ignore th huge risks associated with him.

can he play leadoff?

i know it was sarcasm but still our offense has been the best in the majors practically everyday this season so no reason to through comments like that out

Do we seriously think it'd take Hill to get Cabrera? He's been a mediocre starter his entire career.

Cabrera has amazing upside. They're not going to trade him when he finally looks like he's putting it together unless they're blown away by an offer. Pie+Gallagher+1-2 others are not going to do it. They would definitely need Hill in there.

With that said, there's no way the Cubs should pay anywhere close to that for Cabrera.

he only looks like he's putting it together because he has a lower ERA. his BABIP this year is .245 and his K/BB is a less-than-stellar 44/32 in 80 innings pitched.

I was more talking about what I think Baltimore's perception will be of him. I think he's fools gold right now, but I'm sure they're very pleased at what he's done.
