The Hurricanes answered with one in the bottom of the frame and two more in the seventh to win it, but they had to use bullpen stalwarts Kyle Bellamy (2.1 IP, 0 R) and Carlos Gutierrez (1 IP, 0 R) to slam the door. That gives Missouri an edge over the Hurricanes in today’s marquee matchup.

 

Hopefully we can pull out a miracle. I'm not holding my breath, though.

Way to go Rebels. Once you fall into the losers bracket in a regional you are pretty much fudpucked. We've made game 3 of the Super Regional in the last 3 seasons....it ends this year.

Miami wins 6-5. This Mizzou team is one of my least favorite sports teams of all-time. Mizzou-Ole Miss face off tomorrow morning in an elimination to see who gets to bend over for Miami in the afternoon.

Oklahoma State ace Andrew Oliver has been ruled ineligible for tonight's game, possibly for the rest of the season. Speculation is that there is an investigation about Oliver taking extra benefits from an agent. Tyler Blandford will start tonight's game in his place.

Of possible interest to the posters from North Carolina: Mount Olive won the Division 2 national championship today by beating Ouachita Baptist 6-2. The damage was in the form of 5 unearned runs in the 1st inning after a two-out error.

The guy pitching for Ole Miss, Brett Bukvich, is the pitcher in the famous "Emmy nomination" baseball clip of the Arkansas player acting like he got hit by the pitch, and then getting ejected for it.

Mizzou opened up a 4-0 lead with 4 in the top of the 5th, then promptly gave 4 back in the bottom half.

 

I felt that today Mizzou will either beat Ole Miss, beat Miami to send it to Monday, and then lose to Miami tomorrow, or just bend over for Ole Miss and get it over with. We'll see how the rest of this plays out.
