That was one of the most disappointing majors in recent memory. It was a choke fest. Nobody wanted it. They had a whole montage thing with Nick Faldo saying that all Master champions had one thing in common...they played great in the last 9 holes on Sunday. But not this time, Nick...Out of Cabrera, Perry, Campbell, Woods and Mickelson, only Perry played good down the stretch, but even he had some awful shots.

The most surreal moment for me was Tiger hitting that tree...I mean...I do that crap....Tiger's not supposed to.

I was surprised by how much longer Phil was off the tee. Tiger is ranked 48th in driving distance he has been in or around the top ten his whole career.

That is a bunch of nonsense. That was a great final round. The finish was anti-climactic, but the whole day was riveting. Tiger plays in and out of trees all the time. Guys were coming up with great shots left and right. It wasn't a storybook ending, but it was entertaining.

Tiger plays in and out of trees...not off of them. I've never seen him clunk a tree like that.

And yes, Phil and Tiger were playing great much of the day till the end, but the leaders played what...even par or higher rounds?

Perry and Cabrera were each -1 and Campbell was -3. The end was a three man playoff which was very cool I thought.

Yeah, Tiger and Mick falling back towards the end doesn't diminish what they did. Heck, if they would have continued what they started, it was going to be the greatest Masters of all time, now and in the future. If Mickelson doesn't biff on 12, hits his easy eagle put on 15 and his easy birdie putt on 17, he wins this tournament.

But, Phil is Phil. You can count on him to biff because that's what he does.

That Cabrera made it to sudden death after hitting his drive into the woods and then his second shot off a tree is absolutely amazing.

Yeah it had the potential to be one of the best Sunday's of my lifetime at least. When Phil and Tiger were headed to #17 my brother and I were practically awe-struck at how incredible the day had been. Then Phil sticks it on 17 but just mis-reads his putt terribly.

Feel bad for Perry, he looked unflappable until the chip on 17 and then never recovered. I thought Cabrera was dead when he was 3 back while Phil was making his charge and Tiger was coming on. He caught a huge break off the tree but also made some huge shots and putts.

Oh and I'm in the market for a new set of irons. With some of the deals you can find online, especially last year's models, I'm looking to stay around $400 or less if I can. Post any recommendations you may have or deals you've found online.

i'm becoming irate listening to people say that mickelson choked. he shot 30 on the front 9 by going for every pin; he went for the pin on 12 and people are ripping on him for not shooting at the center of the green. he didn't get back in contention by playing that way; he rolled the dice again and lost.

by the way, tiger woods bogeyed the last two holes. sometimes a guy just has a bad hole or two, it's not always a choke.

These are the irons I play. They are made from forged steel, so when you hit the ball solid, it feels great. They are also cavity backed, which makes it easier to get it off the ground. I am pretty sure these clubs were designed with one degree less loft than normal. Pretty solid clubs for the price, but you might be able to find better. What is your handicap?

I'm really thinking of getting into golf for real this summer, instead of just playing at the kiddie links occasionally. What is a good way to get started? We have a couple golf courses near by.

golf everyday for a couple weeks and bask in amazement at how good you are all of a sudden.

the 15 year old version of me could beat the pants off of any subsequent version of me.

Go to the driving range, go to a par-three course too. Golf takes time to learn to play well. I would suggest getting a couple of lessons from a local golf pro.

16 handicap when playing semi-regularly last year for the first time in about 5 years. Hit my 6 and lower irons very consistently, very inconsistent with mid-high irons, fairway woods and driver. Short game is coming along.

Not expecting any miracles with new clubs. I play about a 15 year old set of Wilson's that aren't terrible, just looking for something a touch more forgiving. I'm able to play a nice draw with 7 iron and lower pretty consistently, need to get better with everything longer.

My biggest problem is getting my body out in front, especially with the driver. Local pro gave me a nice tip/drill where I put my right toe even with my left heel, about 6 inches apart and keep that right heel on the ground all the way through the shot. Or putting that right foot back with only the toe on the ground. Takes my body out of the shot and don't lose much distance at all.

Then I go back to a normal stance, normal shot and I just have a killer time trying to slow my body down. When I get my timing down I can put together a really nice round, but when I get too fast with the body it's tough to get it back.

I'm not sure where you live, but most big golf stores like Golfsmith let you test the clubs out at a real range they have or a simulated one before buying them. I would recommend that.

But he did choke.

He shanked two very short puts on 15 and 17 that cost him two strokes and he also had a bogey on 18 after getting a birdie and two pars already in the tournament. That's three strokes. If he just gets a par on 12, that saves two more strokes. All in all, that's five strokes he missed, with four guaranteed if you leave out 18. He finished at -9, which was three back, so if you add in four of those strokes, he's at -13 which wins the tournament. The way he played the front nine was amazing, and that can't be taken away from him. But on 12, he was one back of the leaders with six holes left after that - he didn't need to stick it two feet from the pin. He just needed to get it on the green, and two putt for the par.

Tiger finished four back and even if he pars those last two holes, he's two back. He had two pars and a birdie on 17 but just a par and two bogeys on 18 so expecting him to do much more on that hole isn't fair.

So the final ESPN poll results for what people would remember were like 55% tiger/Michelson duel, 33% that guy who blew it, 13% guy who won.

Can't be good for golf (not that I care)
