liriano, hill and ubaldo have combined to give me 48 points on the season. i would have expected one or two of them to perform below expectations, but this is ridiculous.

not only are hill's struggles killing my fantasy team (x2), they're killing the cubs in a major way. good luck in the playoffs with a rotation of z, dempster and lieber. yikes.

Another arm before the All-star break looks like it is going to be very important. I just don't know who the Cubs can go out and get. How about Hill, Pie, Samardzija, and Ceda for Halladay ;-).

way too much for halladay.

Christ... I had a nice lead evaporate after ridiculous pitching performances from the Bud Crew. Hudson is absurd. I hope Halliday and Sheets can win it for me this week. My bats have sucked!

I happened to really like Hudson's start. Wakefield had a decent pick me up as well after Smoltz went on the DL.

I need my bats to come alive and make up the difference in your starts.

And Jon Garland needs to not suck this time out.

God though I do love Xavier Nady. Could be the best pick I had in the draft. It's hard deciding who to bench with the bats that I have, but I made the right decision in Dye for this week.

Ha...epic collapse in the fifth for Parra today (ab's are backwards, so backe's hr was first):

Lee walked.

Tejada scored, Berkman to second on wild pitch.

Berkman singled to left, Tejada to third.

Tejada doubled to deep left, Matsui scored.

Matsui stole second.

Matsui singled to left.

Bourn homered to right.

Backe homered to left center.

Took the score from 16 down to -10.5 in a hurry. At least it was a Brewer!

eta - and Bush allows one runner to score to make that -14.5 in the space of six batters.

Yes...Beckett is out pitching Shields.

I just wish I had rememebered to activate Perez. If I had this week would be in the bag. As it stands, I should go into Sunday with the lead, but....

My guarantee may be in jeopardy.

Jon Garland comes through with a 30 point start last night!!! Woooo!

I need a solid day from my bats and a solid outing from Joe Saunders. Saunders has been fantastic so far this season so I hope he continues on that path.

It would help greatly if the Astros and White Sox had great offensive explosions in the first or second innings of there games today.

17 point difference between the Quakers and my team in what was deemed the match up of the week. I have had quite the failure this week from my pitching staff, but the bats have been a lot better than past weeks. Neither of us have a pitching start remaining, so it could come down to who has the least amount of bats getting a Sunday afternoon off.

I have quite the roster crunch working against me right now. All of my minor leaguers are getting promoted and it's high time for me to start promoting them as well.

Mike Cameron, Brian Giles and Mike Mussina are guys who I won't have room on my roster for starting this new week. I want to get some of my youngsters in to compete against Tim's youngsters in our match up this coming week.

If anyone has interest in any of these guys, I'd be interested in minor league help to replace the guys I'm going to promote (Ellsbury and Scherzer).

Hu and or Aybar may be available. They will not be of interest to anyone who wants to compete now, but they are worth a look to anyone who is rebuilding.

Juan, Arroyo will be start #8 for you this week.

Thanks, I missed that somehow.

Fuzzy makes up the 17 point difference and takes a 1 point lead, but Quakers more than likely has an at bat advantage the rest of the day.

I also have a couple of minor leaguers I may need to promote soon. Dewitt apparently has won the starting 3B job for the Dodgers (LaRoche just got sent to the minors upon being activated from the DL). And Mathis finally seems to be up to stay. Too bad he's splitting time with Napoli; otherwise I'd make him my starting catcher.

Haha. Gagne blows another save. That gives Fuzzy another chance to get 3 more at bats if they can get to the 11th inning.

A close one for the Quakers.

I think that this is one of the better teams that I have had over the years. Now if Dunn's and Beltran's bats come to life, watch out. :D

Congrats. You caught me having a bad week on the mound. To have minus 47 points combined from Brandon Webb, Johnny Cueto, James Shields and Randy Johnson stings quite a bit.

This was an awful week for me offensively. Willingham not going on the DL until Thursday really hurt.

My pitching was pretty good overall, but Jenks blew the only save chance he had all week and ended with -0.5 pts.

I'm hoping for better luck next week.
