Cubs fans never cease to baffle me.

 

Players like Aramis get busted on for being "lazy" and Murton is somehow regarded as abust or generally not good, Hill is a complete headcase and should be in relief, but then they'll fight tooth and nail for someone like Theriot and demand he gets as many A's as possible starting at the top of the order.

 

You truly do love your hyperbole, don't you?

 

Personally, I was guilty of supporting Theriot but frankly I don't care who they play at SS anymore (although Theriot has been hitting the ball the last couple games). Whoever does play SS should hit 7th or 8th.

 

As far as your Hill comment, that is just silly. The Cubs put him in the pen for only 2 games yet you act as if the Cubs, and those who supported this TEMPORARY move, want to banish him to the bullpen forever and never see him again. You do realize he's starting Friday, and like most who supported this temporary move, I'm hopeful a few extra bullpen sessions helped him mechanically.

 

Flip on either of the Chicago sports radio stations or WGN's postgame shows to hear exactly what I'm talking about over and over and over and over again, or just overhear plenty of people in or around the ballpark. My comment wasn't slamming the Cubs...it was slamming a very large, very vocal segment of Cubs fans.

He's been getting good contact and hitting to the gaps. Definitely a nice hot streak. I don't think he'll give us Neifi like production, but probably more like replacement level at SS.
