Throwback Jerseys on June 12?

Prior to the season starting, there was talk of the Cubs doing a throwback uniform game this season, but I think we have the first real rumblings of it here.

 

Jersey-Joe.com has compiled a list of the throwback uniforms to be worn by any teams doing such a promotion this season. They list the Cubs as wearing 1948 home uniforms on June 12. Dressed to the Nines shows us that the 1948 home uniforms looked like this:

Thoughts? If you ask me, the striped socks need to be not only part of the throwback uniform, but wearing the pants right needs to be mandatory for a night, because those are some sweet socks.

I'm praying that "throwback" actually means they'll be throwing back the hideous blue jerseys to whatever awful baseball jersey hell they came from.

I love throwback jerseys. However, those futuristic jerseys look like something I could pick up at Wal-Mart.

I'd actually like the Cubs to wear throwback jerseys for all Sunday home games. Play up the tradition of Wrigley and the franchise. Although the wife wouldn't like me buying another jersey.

Those "future" jerseys they had years ago when they "turned ahead the clock" were beyond horrible.
