imo the Habs/Bruins series is going to be much closer and much better than most people are giving it credit for.

Canadiens over Rangers in 6

Biased me says Caps over Penguins but that would be a great, great series. Pretty much the two hottest teams in the East for the last 4 months of the regular season. Ovechkin v... MALKIN! and that crosby guy i guess.

also, the senators did everything wrong last night. the worst part of it was that they let the penguins send the message at the end of the game. how does bryan murray let laraque's 80 second shift with 90 seconds left in the game go unchecked? how do you not start something before roberts buries cody bass into the boards with 11 seconds left? letting therrien send the message there is poor.

craps already get one back in the 3rd and press for more. john stevens must've given his patented "hey guys we're up two, so make sure you just stand there and watch the other team skate circles around you"

please, fire this bum sooner rather than later

and of course the caps hurt a flyer with a slapshot and they let them play, then pot another goal on what's basically a 5-on-3. then they go celebrate by diving on top of each other at center ice. i know most of you guys are new to this but come on, act like you've been there before.

aaaaaaaaaaand then we just piss the puck away to ovechkin in the last three minutes for the game winning goal. see, good and well coached teams get a two goal lead and then keep playing the same style that got them the lead in the first place. teams that have a coach who's completely overmatched play scared and end up coughing up the lead. i'll watch the rest of the games, but we don't stand a chance to win a cup with stevens as coach.

hopefully if we are gonna lose this series we can hurry up and get it done in 4, not waste my time.

you've gotta give the caps credit sooner or later, that's a really good team.

they're pretty good, but the flyers just stood around all third period. the last goal was horrible, modry (of course, he blows, but so does whoever else would've played in his place) can't make a decision in the defensive zone and coughs it up. same crap that's been happening all year; get a lead and then blow it because we stop doing the things that got us ahead in the first place. i guess i still have some hope that we look bad enough in this series that stevens will still be fired.

but it's not all his fault that the team's loaded with irresponsible forwards like briere and lupul.

briere was only on the ice for one goal against and was out there for all four of our goals. i don't think he was the problem. lupul plays on a line with richards, who's one of the best defensive forwards in the game, and kept ovechkin contained until modry/kukkonen gave him a goal. most of our forwards actually are good defensively - richards, gagne, carter, hartnell, umberger. by the way, umberger played on the fourth line for the first time all season tonight. because we all know that when you have a forward who had 50 points this year, the best thing to do with him is surprise him with a demotion to the fourth line in the playoffs! solid move there!

if you watched the game, you might have noticed the flyers carrying the play during the second period, mostly because they had organized breakouts and a strong forecheck. then in the third period, they were stacking everyone up at the blue line and standing around in front of the net. do you think each player individually decided to stop playing the style that got them the lead, or maybe some other person told them to play a different style?

i guess every game the flyers play is a game closer to watching claude giroux play nightly for us. he's beating up the QMJHL playoffs this year: 10 games, 9 goals, 18 assists, 27 points, +15. nobody else in the league has more than 19 playoff points. i am very high on him - we are deep at forward but he should be a top two line winger.

Anyone watching the Detroit-Nashville game? Four goals in about four minutes - two for each team. Detroit got the first one to go up 2-0 and then Nashville tied it up with a pair of goals 11 seconds apart. Then right after a timeout, Detroit scored again.

Anaheim already down 2-0 to the Stars in the series. If they have an early exit, the Redwings are going to have an easy road to the finals. I see them winning the Cup if that happens.

The Ducks are not as good as San Jose. I also dont think the Wings have this first series in the bag yet

there's absolutely no way the Preds can conceivably come back from a 2-0 deficit. unless perhaps Zetterberg and Datsyuk skate into each other and get dual concussions.

They might not come back and win but they can drag it out a few more games which in turn hurts Detroit in the next rounds.

devils win on a goal that is typical as far as their luck goes - guy blindly throws the puck in front and it bounces off a rangers' d-man skate

jeez, sharks just potted three goals in calgary in the first 3.5 minutes. that's how you take the opposition crowd out of the game.

The Flames overcame a very quick 3 goal deficit to beat the Sharks last night. I am very surprised that the Flames are giving the Sharks this much trouble.

i'm a little surprised but not shocked. if i were a low (#1/2) seed in the west, the last thing i would want is to take on a team in western or central canada. those fans live for hockey, and no matter how big an underdog their team is, they go all out for their team. calgary, edmonton and (once upon a time) winnipeg were great places to play in the playoffs, but not for opposing teams. combine the intimidation factor of the saddledome with a very good goalie in kiprusoff, one of the game's best players in iginla, and a true #1 d-man in phaneuf, and you've got a tough matchup.
