Should I make this trade.

I have a solid team, great pitching (Santana, Smoltz, Oswalt, King Felix, Rich Hill, Gorzelanny), but I may need a few more steals. I've been offerred this trade. Should I accept.

 

I get:

 

Hanley Ramirez

C.C. Sabathia

 

I give:

 

Johan Santana

Troy Tulowitzki

 

I think Johan is going to be money, but this is tempting... What do you guys think?

That's what I'm thinking, and I have to think Hanley may regress slightly.

I'm really leaning towards taking this deal. After looking at both Santanna and Sabathia's usage over the past 3 years, I'm a little scared by Sabathia's jump in IP's last year, but I feel Santana is just as likely to go down. Both have stayed relatively healthy their entire careers. The upgrade from Tulo to Hanley puts it over the top.

 

I would just like a quick second opinion before I pull the trigger. Thanks guys.

Do it. If Sabathia flops, your pitching is strong to compensate, plus there's a lot more pitchers that will come out and be successful that aren't claimed now than there are all around talents that steal a bunch of bases.
