Reds reassigned OF Jay Bruce, RHP Josh Roenicke, RHP Tom Shearn to minor league camp; optioned OF Drew Anderson and RHP Marcus McBeth to Triple-A Louisville.

The funniest part of the story is that Bruce was beat out by his predecessor, a similarly talented yet underachieivng Corey Patterson. Man, the Reds are going to LOVE Dusty as manager. I can wait till the day in which the Reds have to suit down Aaron Harang and Bronson Arrojo because of "tired arms".

Yes. It does. Because this is honestly the best therapy for the Dusty years here - watching him do it to someone else while they are almost as clueless as us.

i really wouldn't be surprised if that worked out this year...they are definite contender and my pick for dark horse in the division without a doubt

I think the Reds will win just enough games for at least 4-5 writers to pull out the lazy, boring, and myopic "Dusty Baker sticks it to the stat geeks and just wins, baby" column somewhere around August 15th.

 

And then when Volquez, Cueto, and Bailey go down next year, those same columnists will question openly the toughness of the three.
