Well, someone must have had a good start today for the Cubs. Any idea who it was?

Dempster went:

5.1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 7 K

The Cubs only have 4 hits on the day. 2 from Theriot (including a triple), 1 from Ramirez, and 1 from Blanco. The other Cubs highlight is that Fukudome threw out a runner at home.

The offense is getting scary.

Looks like the Cubs are in midseason form already. Were we facing a junkballing lefty?

Is junk balling similar to skyballing?

LOL

So last night when the Giants broadcaster gave out their email I went ahead and sent him an email correcting what he said about Kerry wood:

Hey, big cub fan listening to the game tonight and I just wanted to correct what you just said. Kerry Wood is NOT going to be in the starting rotation this year. He is in the running for closer along with Bob Howry and Carlos Marmol. Wood was expected to pitch today but it was not going to be a start, just a relief outing.

This morning I got this:

My apology and I should have known better, I misread the headline which talked about Wood's back spasm's as missing an appearance as opposed to missing a start (which obviously was not the case).

We have another game on the 25th against the Cubs which I will do and correct it then.

I appreciate you pointing out my error.

Good luck to the Cubs this season and I again, thank you for taking the time to listen.

Best wishes,

Doug Greenwald

Hey, he apologized and promised to correct it on the air. That's much more than I'd expect of any broadcaster, especially one of an opposing team.

I know. I wasn't trying to trash him - I think it's awesome he responded.
