I just bought the 2008 Baseball America Prospect Handbook today, which is almost certainly my favorite annual publication. BA started publishing this awesome book in 2001, so this was the 8th BA prospect handbook. How many do you own?

Which is certainly a good trait of a future journalist.

 

Actually it's not that I don't have the patience to sit and read it. I just have so much other crap to read for school I can't justify spending any money on a book that - by the time I get around to reading - will be out of date.

I own the 2001 copy. I go back and check it for a laugh once in awhile, to see the Cub prospects and prospects on other teams who exploded or imploded. At last count, only about 5 guys were still with the Cubs from their top 30 list that year.
