i can see that this draft has the MEPH rankings interlaced with most picks.

 

you're assuming we've all seen them? you've put out so many lists that i stopped looking

 

well corey hart went three rounds earlier than where he's going in drafts where the users havent been exposed to the mephandom.

 

Maybe I just really like Corey Hart?

i don't think i had either actually, but I still did pretty well. i had guys like ginobli, korver, brad miller, etc. it was 2 or 3 years ago, i'd have to look it up

I don't think it's dead. It's just on hold for a short period of time.

if he is banned for the long term, i can contact imb outside this board and let him know the progress of the draft and when it's his pick, and he can tell me his pick and i'll make it for him. if that's cool with everyone, of course. this thing is gonna take long as it is.

i talk to him everyday on IM so i'm sure between a bunch of us we'll get his info. i think he can still view the board while being suspended, he just can't log in

I'm surprised this league is being drafted no differently than a single-season. I would have expected some of the older guys drafted to be ignored more and overdrafts on some of the future stars, that's the way they've gone in my experience.

FWIW, I've been trying to draft younger guys. I know I'm going to have to make exceptions at times, but yea. Seeing how the draft is going, I might be able to get some of the other younger guys I want later on.

 

This is my first fantasy draft in about 10 years, so if I screw it up, oh well.

I'm not exclusively drafting young, but if trying to decide between two players, I'll go with the younger.

 

Other than Smoltz, my team isn't old.

It's not like you have to keep your whole team, either. If you want to take a chance on an old guy like smoltz or whatever for a year it's not really that big of a deal if you've prepared well.

But Smoltz and similar players I would argue should be devalued in a keeper league; players that you pick at the top few rounds of the draft should have some potential for keeping.

 

But, I'm also surprised that everyone here is doing 5x5 instead of custom leagues with other categories included.

I'm surprised Meph was so low on my Greene pick, though I thought it was a reach myself - I wanted a hitting SS.

He's just not a very good fantasy player. In real life, you take him out of PetCo, and you have something. In fantasy, with 5x5 stats and the fact that he's in PetCo for half his games, he pretty much sucks.
