Greg Couch is one of those idiot sportswriters who think the Cubs would be better off trading Aramis Ramirez because his uniform isn't dirty enough. When you make him look stupid by using numbers, he'll reply with "I watch the game."

He thinks Bedard is a massive upgrade over Rich Hill because he knows Bedard's name, nothing more. He's a fool.

Yeah, the Mets performed so well last season with all of their talent. All one has to do is look at the old Seattle teams to realize that one player doesn't guarantee any team a World Series birth. If having A-Rod, Junior and Randy Johnson didn't ensure a league championship, nothing will.

Agreed, and haven't the sports-writers learned from history and look south at Atlanta. won't be rated high but they are always there

Offensive numbers say that Rameriz isn't even the best 3rd baseman in the NL Central. But then again, many of us watch the games and see his shortcomings daily. I'll take David Wright over him any day.

Thats like saying you would take Albert Pujols over Derrek Lee. Of course you would do that, but that isn't an option. It's Aramis vs. Matt Craig or Casey McGehee etc.

ps Ryan Braun is no longer a 3B.

Who among Troy Glaus, Bill Hall, Ty Wigginton, Edwin Encarnacion, and Jose Bautista is better (and yes, I realize you meant Braun, who was so horrifically awful at fielding his position that has already been moved to LF and has only done it offensively one year)?

You'll take Wright over him? Really? Wow, that's saying a lot. I mean who would ever take one of the top two 3B in baseball on their team? I don't get how pointing out that there are better third basemen in the game somehow takes anything away from Ramirez.

After ARod and Wright, there's not many I would take ahead of Aramis. Maybe Chipper, but he's getting long in the tooth. Depends where Cabrera plays, too, I guess. Aramis is definitely in the top five.

The ONLY valid point he makes is that the Cubs were stupid to not go after Santana. If you enjoyed Couch's article (and I'm being sarcastic), then you'll really love this one by Mike Nadel. I read the headlines and I thought finally, an article to help make me feel better about the Cubs not getting Santana...wrong! Like Couch's article, I am now more pissed off than ever, that the Cubs didn't get Johan Santana

why? Because the cubs didn't spend 150 million dollars to lock up a pitcher?

That's worked out so well in the past hasn't it?

The best thing the cubs did was not get wrapped up in the Santana fiasco.

PS - I heard I heard an Interview today of Couch on XM and he sounded absolutely clueless. If the DJ asked him a hard question, he eventually said "what would you do?". I don't lie. He's an idiot. He said Hill is more of a #4 starter...But Bedard is a QUALIFIED #2 or 1 starter. He has no faith in Hill and the XM DJ made him feel like an idiot about it.
