A Ryan Theriot ad?

Sounds cringe-inducing.

Coffee shop will be best place for a Theriot ad campaign. Coffee will be sold in pound bags as usual, but ground coffee will henceforth be referred to as "therioted" coffee. Bags of whole beans will still be available, but clerks will be instructed to sneer disapprovingly when selling these elitist products.

McDonough didn't leave anyone who knew anything about advertisement did he?

This was done by an ad agency not the Cubs. Agency is Jones Chicago. They should be fired for this campaign. I find the campaign awful but that's just me and I am entitled to my opinion.

who are you defending yourself against?

A friend emailed me these two pictures, which i guess are parodies of the ads. the Lee one is reacting to the backlash to Fukudome's ad, and I'm not sure of the Ted Lilly one but it makes me laugh. He said he found them on some other Cubs message board that i don't remember the name to. Sorry if Im stealing anyone's work, but I thought they were pretty well done.

Why do you think they're awful?

Except for the fact in the Ted Lilly one that you can see the baseball in his hand behind the knife. I don't know about the first one but I'm be very, very surprised if the second picture is an actual ad.

I was going to make a mock-ad for the White Sox with this image, but I ran out of steam.

as a Japanse American, I find the Fukudome ad offensive.

Because of the rising sun flag? I always associated that version of the flag with war/nationalism so that's the first thing I noticed when I saw the ad.

I'm just kidding, I'm not Japanse American...but the "I don't need an interpreter" phrase? What is that supposed to mean? Japanese people are not capable of learning English? Racists.

Umm, if he didn't need an interpreter wouldn't that be because he knew the language?

Are you serious? do you really think those ads are real?

Guess I missed the key word of your post - "parodies".
