According to BCB, at one of the sessions Hendry confirmed that Shingo was signed to be a "Fukufriend."

interesting, hendry must view shingo as a member of the 25 man roster.

It was for ST if I remembered that quote correctly.

It was. They think that Singo can help him get aclimated and also help familiarize him with Chicago.
