I think Hendry wanted the deal done for the Cub Convention. I'm not going to hold my breath waiting, but I do think there's an outside chance it could still happen before the season starts.

In fairness to Levine, he was the first to highlight the interest in Lieber.

And was the first person to mention the Cubs would have interest in Roberts. He said that on the radio before the winter meetings, and that's why I posted the thread that is now known as "The Brian Roberts thread".

The 0% quote is a little iffy though, it basically sounded like at the moment the Cubs have 0% chance of getting him, because the Orioles weren't interested in moving him until after Bedard is traded.
