It's definitely a possibility, but you gotta understand New Hampshire. We're talking what is probably the most libertarian state in the union, Tax-Free New Hampshire. Obama pulls in quite a few independents, but McCain (according to the polls) is leading amongst Republicans so if he maintains that lead he won't really need as many independents, though he will get a few, as conventional thinking would assume.

 

Another distinct possibility is that Huckabee pulls in quite a few independents based on his small-government ethics. New Hampshirians (?) eat that stuff up like hot cakes. Ron Paul beating Giuliani again would be hilarious, as well.

 

Not that I'm disagreeing with you, just thinking out loud. Your scenario is just as much in play as mine. This whole republican primary situation is just absolute chaos. I like it.
