What I find most hilarious is that MLB Trade Rumors is the source on Rotoworld!

Johan Santana-S- Twins Dec. 5 - 4:48 pm et

MLBTradeRumors.com, citing a trusted New York sportswriter, says the Twins have attempted to initiate talks on a three-team deal that would net them Dan Haren, send Johan Santana to the Mets and Jose Reyes to the A's.

It's a huge long shot, but it is the kind of deal the Twins should have been aiming for in the first place if they wanted to stay in contention. This rumor has the A's also sending Bobby Crosby and Dan Johnson to the Mets, while getting Kevin Mulvey back. Hector Pellot would go to the Twins.

99% of what is reported on MLBTR.com is rehash from Rotoworld. I seriously check both all the time and MLBTR is always like five minutes behind Rotoworld and claiming to have learned it from inside sources. Now it's Rotoworld checking MLBTR for rumors and reporting it! At least they're crediting MLBTR, something they never do for Rotoworld. Seriously, it's too bad there's no money in running a site like that because I'm pretty sure I could do it, too.

Thought this was a fairly funny response to the rumor...

But for the final word, we offer this gem from Beane: “I rarely comment on trades publicly, but let me comment on this one: It is an absolute, total fabrication.”

Ha, I saw that.
