The Phillies won't make an offer to retain free agent Jon Lieber.

 

"We don't have any interest in Jon," GM Pat Gillick said. The Astros are believed to be interested in Lieber.

Probably would be cheap, but I doubt he adds much to what we already have.

We believe Jon is still a starting pitcher in the big leagues. Things would just be a lot easier if Jon was a knuckleballer.
