I was getting ready to post this. There is very little reason to think Missouri is a better school than Illinois. It's obviously arbitrary, but Illinois is a better school.

I was talking about in terms of football. I'm not some dork that's going to have an argument about which is the better academic institution. My degree from Mizzou landed me a pretty great job, that's all I'm concerned with. But the Mizzou football team is better than the U of I football team.

Are we really arguing grammar? If you say the full name, then not putting "the" in there sounds dumb. If you abbreviate the name, then putting "the" in there sounds dumb.

Ben Olson has tweaked his knee three times in practice and yet will still be the starter on Saturday against BYU over Osaar Rasshan. This reeks of Dorrell trying to save his job by starting a concussed and dazed Cowan against USC (and starting a gimpy and clearly not ready Cowan against Washington). DeWayne Walker seems to be far more interested in his "try out" for the HC job than the health of his players.
