Rolen for Tejada?

Rumor read on another board: discussions between Balt. and StL: Rolen and a couple minor leaguers for Tejada. Salaries are about the same and both players want "out" of their respective situations. Probably just a rumor, but, any thoughts?

It doesn't quite make sense unless Baltimore is recieving a few real good prospects. Baltimore would be trading Tejada because he does not want to play for them unless they go out and spend money, and the benefit to them is that they would be able to decrease payroll by trading him. So why would they take back Rolen so that the salaries could be a wash?

Baltimore would be so incredibly stupid to make that deal unless they're getting some amazing prospects in return.

Maybe they can get Hoffpauir. They'll need him after Roberts is traded to the Cubs.

Why on Gods green earth, would anybody trade anything for Scott Rolen right now? His shoulder is falling about piece by piece. Hes not going to hit for power again. Just make the Cards eat that damn salary, and keep him on that team please.

I will be seriously pissed if this goes down without significantly hurting the Cards' farm. That said, I'm shocked that Rolen *appears* to have value.

Along with the fact that the O's would have to be insane to take Rolen when they're trying to rebuild, why would St. Louis pay Izturis $2.85M to sit on the bench? They have minor leaguers that can do that for a lot less.
