In addition to talking with agent Scott Boras about Andruw Jones, the Nationals plan to ask about Corey Patterson at the winter meetings.

 

Patterson is the much more realistic target of the two. The 28-year-old is likely to accept a one-year deal to become some team's center fielder versus right-handers. He could also be a possibility for the Rangers, White Sox or Marlins.

This was just a terrible year for Corey to go on the market. Too bad. Just don't go to the White Sox. Or Marlins.
