Well, if they can't lay off crap breaking pitches out of the zone.... this game and series will be over tonight.

Davis;

Keep throwing intentionally bad pitches, you get horrible swings and weak grounders.

Throw it down the middle of the plate, and you get "bat stuck on shoulder" syndrome.

You can't lose!

I'm beginning to worry we aren't going to get any offense going in this series. The DBacks' pitching is not that good, but we're making it look incredible.

We have a great approach going right now. Love seeing swinging at balls and letting the strikes down the middle go.

If you missed it - it's the same approach we had last night. I'm convinced most of our hitters don't know the strike zone and decide before the pitch is thrown whether they're gonna swing at it or not no matter where it is.

I watch the Red Sox hitters and am struck at how 180 degree different their approach is. They work the counts as long as they can (I think they led the league in pitches seen per plate appearance) and eventually the pitcher has to put one in their wheelhouse.

Our guys on the other hand way too often let the opposing pitcher get them out on THEIR pitch.

It doesn't bode well for the postseason when you're mostly facing pretty darn good pitching. They'll continue to exploit it until we change our approach.... and we all know that's not going to happen.

These Frank TV commercials need to go away.

I've been watching TBS all day. They were old last night. Now they're getting painful.

I mean come the soap dropping frack on, I can tell you that stupid curve is coming before it leaves his hand.

DON'T SWING AT IT.

The 1998 Cubs hit .181/.220/.234 in the 1998 NLDS

I have a feeling the Cubs offense is going that way this series. We might just never get it going.

They weren't great in 2003 either. They were better but against worse pitching: .257/.335/.377.
