That was the best possible outcome. Soto catching Z tomorrow. Lou said just a few days ago that Kendall would do the majority of catching, but that obviously didn't work out.

Kendall doesn't deserve to start if you ask me. WHo cares who is a rookie or a veteran, start the player that gives you the best chance to win and that's Soto.

This is exactly how the roster should be really. There was no chance Marquis was getting left off with him having 2 years left on his deal. Cedeno has done more this season for us than Monroe has, and Soto should be starting.

I have to say, I don't like Craig Monroe, but I still think he's a better option off the bench than Fontenot. Fontenot has been pretty worthless.

I'm very happy about our bullpen situation. I'm concerned about the bench. Does this mean the only real options for pinch-hitting are Ward, Murton, and Kendall(If Kendall counts as a real option)?

I understand that. I'm just saying I'd rather see Monroe on the roster instead of Fontenot. We have 4 guys that can play 2b on the roster, and not much pop from the RH hitters. Monroe has sucked, but at least he can hit a homerun every once in a while.

I don't think it is a big deal. They play a maximum of 5 games with this roster. Its not like there is another player that is more deserving than Marquis. I'm sure they put him on the roster because he did a decent job this year and has another 2 years on his contract.
