Hopefully the speculation will end in an hour...

What makes you think it will be announced at 4?

i accidentally posted this in another topic, but buster olney said that mlb will announce game times by 4p today.

In Olney's chat today, he said he got an email from an MLB exec stating that game times would be announced by 4 PM EST. (It's not 4:15 EST)

Doesn't that mean they should have been announced by now? It's past 4pm ET.

What about the weekend games?

I only heard games 1 and 2 on the radio here.

DAMN that sucks!

I'll still only believe it when it comes from MLB.com though.

That sorta sucks - I'm going to have to listen to the second game on the radio on my way to the airport. I'm catching a redeye thursday night to get to chicago for the weekend.

Also in that thread, someone says that the first round will NOT be made available in HD.

I just saw that. I guess we'll find out soon enough. It would be a joke if it's true, though. Are we seriously moving backwards here?

I did find this though...

http://www.bizjournals.com/sanantonio/stories/2007/10/01/daily6.html

Time Warner Cable San Antonio has added TBS HD to the company's local digital television lineup in time for the Major League Baseball playoffs.

The new channel will be available in high definition on digital channel 113. A Time Warner Cable spokesperson says viewers will be able to see the wildcard playoff tiebreaker game between the San Diego Padres and the Colorado Rockies at 6:30 p.m.

Starting Oct. 3, TBS HI will carry all division series games and the National League Championship Series. All postseason Major League Baseball games will be shot in high definition.

"HD maximizes the viewing experience of sports programming," says Jon Gary Herrera, vice president of governmental and public affairs for Time Warner Cable San Antonio. "Now baseball fans will be able to live the action of the MLB playoffs on TBS HD in a way only high-definition technology can offer."

Looks like we might even be able to tell by tonight's one game playoff.

While I would guess that the report is right, it's sort of funny/ironic that you place that much credibility into anything ESPN.

Because we'll have to be up past midnight (and later with all the excitement if they win) on weeknights?

I don't care. I'll still be heading to Wrigleyville afterward if they win.

Yea, I am too...I'm usually up till 2 or 3.. But I didn't really want to be partying that late with work in the morning.

Ah, well. This happens what, once every 5 years?

Does anyone know where I could get nationwide radio broadcast information about this game? I'm going to be in the car for most of it.

If we're lucky.

I still can't believe there wasn't one postseason appearance from 1945-84. How much would that hurt? At least I've had 5 appearances in my 30-odd years of life.
