What's the deal with the 2:55/3p start tomorrow - for the Cubs/Reds and Pads/Brewers??

Tomorrow's game is at 7:10 ET/6:10 CT. Saturday's game is at 3:55 ET/2:55 CT to accommodate FOX. Tomorrows' Brewers/Pads game is at 8:05 ET/7:05 ET. Saturday's game is scheduled at 3:55 ET/2:55 CT, also to accommodate FOX.

I was checking out MLB's scoreboard, and hit the button for Saturday, not Friday.

how crappy would it be if the Cubs won and then the Brewers lost later, wouldn't even get a proper celebration, I guess they could celebrate if they win again or wait in the clubhouse for the Brewers game to end.

I think that would be the most fitting scenario. The winner of the NLC doesn't deserve to celebrate, and it's only appropriate that if the Cubs clinch tomorrow, they will do so in the clubhouse by watching the Brewers lose again.

Also, I wanted to keep my original avatar but still do something for the Padres, so here was my compromise :D

I like it.

Went to the Dodgers-Rockies game today. They honored Ron Cey, Steve Garvey and Dusty Baker for being 3 of 4 Dodgers for hitting 30 HRs in one season. I booed the hell out of Garvey and Baker. Then they showed "highlights" of their careers and showed Garvey in 1984. Booed the hell out of those "highlights."

I loved getting text updates of the Padres-Brewers game while I was on the Metro train to Dodger Stadium and I paid more attention to that game on the out-of-town scoreboard than the game itself.

The Rockies are good. I like Franklin Morales.

I didn't really pay attention to the game is there anybody that proved more awesome than So that I should avatar?

Scott Hairston was your player of the game. 2-5, 3 RBI, Run, and the Pads only extra base hit.

How did the Padres score 9 runs with only 1 extra base hit? Impressive.

correction to Hairston's line, he actually scored 2 runs...but here's how

B Clark singled to center.

J Cassel reached on bunt single to catcher, B Clark to second.

B Giles singled to right, B Clark to third, J Cassel to second.

S Hairston doubled to deep left, B Clark and J Cassel scored, B Giles to third, B Giles scored, S Hairston to third on error by left fielder G Jenkins.

K Kouzmanoff grounded out to third, S Hairston scored.

A Gonzalez struck out swinging.

K Greene struck out swinging.

B Clark walked.

O Robles grounded into fielder's choice to third, B Clark safe at second on error by third baseman R Braun.

B Giles reached on infield single to shortstop, B Clark to third, O Robles to second.

S Hairston reached on infield single to third, B Clark scored, O Robles to third, B Giles to second.

K Kouzmanoff grounded into fielder's choice to pitcher, O Robles out at home, B Giles to third, S Hairston to second.

A Gonzalez hit sacrifice fly to center, B Giles scored, S Hairston to third, K Kouzmanoff to second.

K Greene singled to shallow left, S Hairston and K Kouzmanoff scored.

J Bard flied out to left.

in other words, they were very lucky, and incidentally, while I don't follow them closely, most of the Padres big innings seem to develop in similar fashion.

the Pads are 14th in the NL in OPS, tied for 14th in OBP, dead last in average, yet are 9th in the league in runs. if the guy on the Brewers board has any rant about luck, it should be directed at the Padres.
