Rick Ankiel hits a HR. Ball bounces off the top of the slide and lands in the field of play. Corey Hart picks it up and throws home, but the homerun stands. Ned Yost argues and gets ejected. 14-3 Brewers, but the momentum has shifted.

Ankiel is then caught using HGH in the tunnel between the locker room and the dugout and MLB decides to take the runs off the board. Back to 14-1 Brewers.

Crap! :x

Chris Capuano was brought in to face Edmonds, a lefty. The Cardinals score 16 consecutive runs as the curse of Cappy continues. Cardinals win 17-14.

Please. That's just impossible.

They have lost like 24 in a row when he has appeared in a game, including his last 21 starts

I know. I guess I just fail at irony.

says the guy who thinks it's possible for Corey Hart to both pick up a ball and throw it home

At least I didn't accuse a standup guy like Ankiel of using HGH.

But as a part of Ankiel's punishment for being caught with HGH and because Bud Selig has it out for the Cubs and wants to help the Brewers, Selig mandates that the game must play a tenth inning and that Ankiel has to pitch for the Cardinals. Ankiel throws 19 consecutive wild pitches as the Brewers win 18-17.

Dammit, I turned off gameday and missed that.

I shut mine off too, thinking it was frozen. Turns out it was just that none of the pitches came in anywhere on the screen.

I actually was just talking to the Gameday operater at Miller Park on AIM and the reason for that was they were all laughing so hard at Ankiel that they couldn't concentrate hard enough to put the pitches in. They offer apologies to everybody who was trying to follow along.

That's so badass that you talk to those people on AIM.

dat's how I talk to Len

I just talk to Len in person. His voice cracks in real life too.

I'd like to disagree with you, but the red lettering makes the argument a little too compelling. I'm convinced. Go Cards! (puke)

I'm going to continue writing in red in hopes of channeling the luck of the Cardinals. I'm not afraid to admit that I'm rooting for them tonight even though I can't stand them. Go Cards!

Hopefully it's representative of a Cards' win as opposed to the blood shed when Fielder sends a screaming line drive right through Pujols' head.
