I notice the ND updates suddenly stopped when they started coming back in the second half :D

Good win for Purdue. ND gets better and better every game, but they are still very likely to start 0-8. They still make way too many mistakes to beat any quality team. Getting within a TD of Purdue after starting down 23-0 is nice, missing extra points left and right is not.

As for the Golden Tate thing that you were asking about earlier dew, you should watch the highlights of this game. He is an amazing deep threat and made 3 absolutely great catches today for huge gains.

I turned the channel and was watching the UConn game. What was the final score?

33-19. Notre Dame drove down the field a few times and got the lead to 26-19 with 7 minutes left in the game. Purdue added an insurance TD, and then Sharpley threw an INT in the red zone after ND had driven down there with about 3 1/2 minutes left that sealed the game.

The total yards between the two teams was actually close for the first time all season. Purdue had 441 yards to ND's 431 yards.

Purdue has a bad defense. They gave up 28 points in one half to Minnesota last week.

Yes there Offense is nice but it's a shootout every week. When they run into a stout defense they're going to be in real trouble. Maybe we'll get lucky but I have a very bad feeling about OSU next weekend, at least it's at home. We should be ranked this week too.

congrats to Illinois. That game was very winnable for Penn State, but unfortunately they have Anthony the Turnover Machine Morelli at QB, so that wasn't going to happen. There are very few QBs I've seen who have awareness and decision-making as poor as him. I'm ready for the Pat Devlin era to begin about, say, two weeks ago. But oh wait we'll get another 7 games of Morelli, then the Daryl Clark crapfest in 2008.

Not to take anything away from Illinois - they're a pretty good team and should definitely make the Alamo Bowl, if not one of the bigger (Outback/Crapitol One) bowls. PSU is just a better team, IMO, with the exception of the most important position on the field.

I'm not sure who was the worse QB on the field, Juice or Anthony Morelli. Fortunately for Illinois, they figured they should just run the ball all of the second half, and Penn State just kept passing.

Juice didn't play very well either, but he didn't turn the ball over four times in the second half. That's what decides games, and Morelli just makes terrible decisions with the ball at critical times. Another example was the sack in the last drive - the last thing you can do is get sacked there, and the dumbass just stands there and takes the sack.

Cuse, Morelli was orignally committed to Pitt but after Henne picked scUM, Morelli changed his mind and chose PSU. He was a 4 star recruit, ranked one of the top 10 QBs in the country by most scouting services. The problem is that he has all the physical attributes of a good QB, but he's an idiot. And stupid people do not make good QBs.

That's right, thanks. Well....Henne or Morelli, it was a lose lose for you anyways. It didn't help Pitt either because they have struggled at that position too.

You know I see a lot of QB's like that who get away with just talent against one level but once the thinking part enters as the competition gets tougher, they just get left in the lot.

Ball State pounds the crap out of Buffalo 49-14 and rolls up over 450 yards of offense for the 4th week in a row. Would've been 56-14 but they took a knee inside the Buffalo 10 to end it. Man, it is fun to watch them. They were up 28-0 a few minutes into the 2nd quarter before letting off the gas a bit.

They need to step it up in the MAC and not just lose those close games to tough teams. What grade is that QB of yours?

Well, he's got 14 TDs and 2 interceptions this year, and one of those INTs was tipped, and he's thrown for about 1400 yards in 5 games.

If we play like we have the last two weeks, we really should win out and go 10-2, including Illinois and Indiana.

good luck with that one. i'm not saying illinois will win, but assuming illinois, who should be in the top 25 after today, is an automatic win is ridiculous.

I didn't assume anything. I said that if Ball State plays like the team that's scored 89 points in two weeks and rolled up over 600 yards of offense on Nebraska, they should win. I don't see them playing that well again, but if that team showed up they'd win.

Cal and Oregon are tied 3-3 with 2:26 to go in the second quarter. Crazy.

Maryland 14...Rutgers 3. with 5 and change left in the second period.

If Maryland holds on, I have to think this would be bad news for the Big East.

Rutgers losing to a team WVU handled easily right after South Florida beat the Mountaineers doesn't do much for the prestige of a conference.

Granted still a very long way to go in this one.

Wow. I'd like to see that.

Texas is playing their 1st half like they did against TCU. If they are not careful they will lose two in a row to KState.

And right on cue, Cal makes a boneheaded penalty with Oregon out of FG range on and about to punt it away and 2 plays later, Oregon punches it in.

1:44 to go and Oregon leads Cal 10-3. Defensive struggle in Eugene.

It wouldn't be good but yet the conference hasn't played each other that much yet and we'll see how they fall. Cinci and SFlor may be the best teams and since they don't have the name or the preseason hype what you say rings true.

How does that happen?

Offenses must not be taking the field. :D

Must be! The second half might be nuts.

I'll make the Cuse argument for a second. When teams in the SEC all give each other losses, it's because the conference is a gauntlet that nobody can go undefeated in. When the BE does it, it's because all the teams are bad in the conference. Everyone argued last year that WV, Louisville, and Rutgers were good because the rest of the conference was terrible. Now that the other part of the conference is better, how is that bad for the conference?

Yea, I was mainly focusing on national perception of the conference. People were just beginning to buy into WVU, Rutgers and Louisville a little, now all of a sudden those teams don't look as good (if this score holds).

KState is a pretty solid team. They aren't sexy but a tough team to beat.

Chance to win it for CU.

KState plays us tough, solid QB, solid pass defense. Things that dont play well into Texas.
