I never thought Id say this, but if we're struggling this much against the Cardinals, where going to really have trouble against the Reds and Pirates.

Lets just hope Mulder doesnt choose today as his breakout game.

How have we struggled with the Cardinals?

A loss and 2 close games that ended up wins. The Cubs were 2 swings of the bat away from losing 3 games in a row to the Cardinals, thats hardly dominating.

Yes, but we were one swing of the bat away from winning all three games.

Thats really really pushing it. We have faced their ace, and a guy who has dominated everybody in the daytime. Alot of baseball games come down to 1 swing of the bat. We won 2 of 3 games so far and the one loss was a 2nd game of a DH, how often do you see a sweep in a DH?

Consider this the first bitch about Cedeno in the lineup. Im actually mising Izturis for the first time. Maybe Lou should pull a LaRussa and bat Marquis 8th.

Jones, Floyd, Ward, and Kendall off the bench could be clutch if it comes down to it.

Yeah a lot of them do, but I think that was the original posters point. These are games that either side could easily win, the Cubs just did enough in 2 of the 3 to pull off the wins. That would be having 'trouble' with them.

Well Izturis has about the same OPS as Theriot on the season, so its understandable. Theriot has a sub 550 OPS in September, its time for a rest

Man, I hope that Kendall does not get a chance to pinch hit. I would rather Fontenot get that chance.

But the statement makes no sense, as most baseball games arent blow outs and come down to 1 or 2 swings. Hes making a big deal about our "struggles" with the Cards, and its like that for the majority of MLB. Hence, the reason most playoff teams win the close games, and most bad teams lose them.

Ankiel is going to homer off Marquis

Hells no. I say his downward spiral continues so far that within two weeks he looks like this:

Wow no bitching about Cedeno yet? That might be a record.

Theriot really needs a day off and the rest of the lineup looks pretty good.

Monroe looks pretty good?

I said the lineup as a whole, not one player. If you are going your route of bitching, you should begin, like Keener said, with Cedeno.

I dont mind Cedeno being in the lineup, but when you said that the rest of the lineup looks pretty good, I did not know whether you saw MOnroe in there and not Jones

Gosh watching that throw to 1st by Kendall again just pisses me off. What a joke.

That was the first time I had seen it and it looks worse when you actually see it.

Just like you don't mind Cedeno starting, I don't mind Monroe getting a spot start. Are you really going to keep nit-picking about Monroe getting a spot start?

Theriot needs an off day. Sub 550 OPS in September. I have no problem with Cedeno playing.

I dont mind either, I did not say anything about Cedeno being in the lineup

I'm not going to argue anymore over the semantics of the two words "pretty good", sorry.
