sure he hits lefties well but he still left five men on base in his other two at bats. If he can play an serviceble rightfield defensively It wouldnt bother me at all. But I'm not too sure he can.

He was 2-4 with a BB, and a 3-run HR, which was the reason we won the game. Trying to take away from today is very bad for you argument because it shows just how biased you are.

for all the talk of benching Cliff Floyd in favor of Matt Murton, Cliff is slugging close to Murtons OPS in September.

Nevermind Cliffys numbers since the ASB > Murtons. I mean just shut up

I'm gonna need that one explained to me.

Post-ASB numbers through yesterday's game:

Floyd: .280/.374/.449/.823

Murton: .300/.370/.533/.903

Granted, Floyd's weekend made the numbers a lot closer, but I would assume the fans wouldn't mind Floyd playing if he hit like he did this past weekend. Even with the weekend, at worst the numbers justify them splitting time evenly.

It's just too bad that it's impossible to make a statistical argument without feeling the need to assert a personal feeling of superiority to help one feel better about himself.

He probably meant against right-handers (which is almost certainly the case, but I can't look it up right now). It probably should have been clarified though.

In Sept:

Murton .292/.370/.542/.912

Floyd .290/.421/.742/1.163

Murton's OPS hasn't moved much post-ASB( it was .924 in AUG), Floyd had a horrid JUL and AUG( both sub.700 OPS). Floyd's OPS skyrocketed in the last week, his OPS for the last 7 games is over 1.500. I'll admit Floyd is hot right now, but I'd still rather see Murton getting a majority of the time in RF.
