I'm guessing the source of people wanting Stone as GM is Steve Stone.

I'm guessing Stone's making clear he has no interest in being a GM is based on the actual interest in his GMing.

Don't get me wrong, he wouldn't be the worst GM in baseball, but the other awful GMs get their chances because they've worked their way up through the system making excellent coffee.

Have you heard Stone on WSCR? He would probably be the worst GM.

so yeah, perfect, let him GM some other team in the Central

strangely, i am really looking forward to Floyd's next at bat

He's only got the easy half of the cycle left. That said, I wouldn't argue if he would prefer to pad his OPS over going for the cycle.

Hill at 80 pitches through 5 -- I'd LOVE to get at least 2 more innings out of him, 3 if at all possible!

On pace for 112 pitches through 7 which would be fantastic.

hit? that's a generous ruling.

Hard to give Ramirez an error on that, and they pretty much never give an error to a first baseman on a scoop.(which I disagree with, it's part of their job, that's an error on Lee.)

I'd give the error to Ramirez. He made a good play fielding the grounder, but he had enough time to get the runner by a step or two. He made a bad throw, so to me that's an error.

The throw bounced, but it was right on line, that's an easy scoop that most first baseman make.

considering that lee is one of the best in the game at scooping balls in the dirt, i don't see how you can say that "most first basemen" make that play

Wasn't phrased correctly, that play is made by the average 1B 95% of the time. Even the best in the business don't get it done every single oppurtunity(hence why I say it's an error on Lee.) There aren't many easier scoops than that one.(bounced a little too close to the bag) Is it your belief that every throw that doesn't get there on a fly that isn't handled cleanly is an error on the thrower?

Have you seen some of the actions of current GMs? Granted Littlefield is gone now, but Jim Bowden and Wayne Krivsky are still gainfully employed. Whoever's running Baltimore now too.(Duquette? though whoever it is, I'd blame Angelos more than anyone else.)

With the pen being used so much yesterday, it'd be superb if the Cubs could get a few more sooner rather than later.

replay shows that Pence didn't misplay that ball on the triple. that thing was by him before he knew what happened

Pence ran in on it. He misplayed it. Possible, maybe likely he doesn't catch it, but he definitely misplayed it somewhat.

well it was a screamer right at him, hardest play to judge. he never would have caught it even if he had gone back and to his right
