If you go to MILB.com you can pull up gameday and look at the breakdown. On 2 batters he did throw 4 straight ball and the 3rd was 5 pitches. Not to worried about the BB's as the Cubs have given him strict orders as to what he has to work on. It was nice to see him throw the 94 pitches as this is the most he has thrown all year.

Who's minor league stats am I comparing? (He's a current Major Leaguer):

? in 2004 - A+ .293/.346/.508/.854, 22 BB & 69 SO in 88 G

Colvin in 2007 - A+ .306/.336/.514/.850, 10 BB & 47 SO in 63 G

? in 2005 - AA .275/.332/.487/.809, 21 BB & 76 SO in 84 G

Colvin in 2007 - AA .284/.299/.437/.736, 4 BB & 43 SO in 47 G

No clue. Hunter Pence?

Anyway, I fail to see the lesson. Player ? has a MUCH better IsoD.

Until Colvin learns to take walks, I won't really be able to take him seriously.

Francoeur is my guess.

edit-what a hard name to spell.

Raisin and or anyone who has seen the I-Cubs, from what Ive seen in numbers why wasn't/hasn't Rapada been called up?

and what are the chances of Soto being with the big club next year full time?

that is all

I'm guessing Rapada isn't up because Lou favors the lefty who is better against righties in Piggy.

Soto will be out of options next year and will have to be with the big club.

I think that's way too harsh. It's obviously a big concern and it has to be improved at some point, but it doesn't completely negate everything else.

He can't hit that at the majors, and if he won't take a walk pitchers will prey on that.

It doesn't negate everything, but it negates a lot.

It doesn't negate everything else, but it's not like everything else is all that impressive. It would be one thing if he was hitting .350/.375/.560 with that terrible K/BB ratio and extremely low walk rate. But he's hitting just .302/.325/.489 in the minors this year. He's not a league leader with a flaw. We're talking about a guy with decent numbers and a huge red flag flaw here.
