I got to see Santana pitch in KC last week. He wasn't full-on, only went six and gave up two. Not bad, but not Santana-like.

While I understand what you mean....keep in mind his ERA is 2.93 and you saw a preformance with a 3.00 ERA. Pretty much spot on.

Santana's in the race, still. Third in ERA, only 2 wins behind. Looking that up, though, made me go HOLY CRAP AT HOW GOOD Erik Bedard has been. He's basically been Santana, only with a few more walks and even more strikeouts.

Looks like somebody noticed Carlos Zambrano's contract signing. I bet he wishes he could have the 6th inning back. If he's at 18 or 19 after 8, he goes back out there in the 9th, regardless of pitch count.

The AL Cy def looks to be coming down to Haren, Bedard, and Santana. My pick would probably be Bedard right now, just ahead of Haren.

John Lackey and Josh Beckett are in the running for that award as well.

They might be 4th and 5th (Beckett ahead of Lackey), but not top 3. They both have ERA's in the 3's, and they've a lot more hittable than Haren, Bedard, and Santana. Lackey has actually given up more hits than innings pitched. Escobar's been better than Lackey too.

WHIP order: Santana, Bedard, Beckett, Haren, Escobar, Lackey

ERA order: Haren, Escobar, Santana, Bedard, Beckett, Lackey

K's order: Bedard (gap) Santana (gap) Beckett, Haren, Lackey, Escobar

IP order: Santana, Haren, Bedard...

Lackey shouldn't be. He's been good this year but not top 5 in the AL.
